Remix Contest Number 2 - Vive Le Roi by the Five Knives Remix - Derk Jickface

I recently entered a remix contest over at Indaba Music and could win a thousand bucks and a Red Bull Records release if I win the whole thing.  Anything's possible right?

There are a BUNCH of awesome songs though in the competition so I'm not getting my hopes up too high but it feels nice just to hear positive feedback from other musicians and artists around the world.  I've made friends in Germany, Toronto, Rhode Island, Singapore, London and Jupiter already!

38 Birthday Pledges, Wishes and Resolutions

Since my 38th birthday is now over and I did nothing but sleep all day and watch TV in celebration, I figured I'd do something constructive today.  So I wrote the following and, from now on, it shall be used as my mission statement that I will follow for as long as it and I shall live.

The importance of a good night's sleep

I absolutely love sleep.  Ask anyone who knows me and they'll agree that sleeping (and napping) are very dear to me.  If sleeping was a sport, I'd be a gold medalist in the Olympics and THE champion of planet Earth.  I'd even find a way to beat the athletes who try to cheat by entering the sport in a coma, which is technically not sleep... cheaters.

Anyway, since 2010 I had been sleeping on the couch, in a loft bed, outside and even in my bathtub until last week when my parents gave me a real bed as an early birthday gift.  Thanks Mommy and Daddy!
